Wealth is a State of Mind: What it means to be Black & Self Made in 2021.
Back in December I took a spin by my old middle school. I remember walking out that front door after being expelled. Shit hurt, I went to that school from K-8 and got kicked out three weeks before my graduation and I just lost my mom 3 months before that. Picture that. But here’s an article what’s not expected from black men like me at least. Im a Non tradition author.
Its always important to know where you come from, because how the fuck you gon know where you going. I’m so tied to the land that I know every highway in the US of A. I seen every exit on 95. From Pompano Beach, to Portland Maine. That’s where the paper in the books yall read by us come from. I aint keep my heads in the books, I kept my head in the streets, that’s how I learned the game, from real people, from real OGs. Now Im giving that game to my people, those who got the same desire I got to learn. Information is an asset, but when you look at it from the third dimension, all you see is dollars. Wealth is a state of mind my G. I had someone ask me what they should name their journal, and I instantly thought of, Wealth is a State of Mind. I liked that shit so much that I made that the name of a podcast for my company, No More Suits, LLC. No More Suits is the Afrotech of the East, that’s on my mama, may Allah rest her soul, Insallah.
We just did episode 002 with my brother Los, who book bout to drop in less than a month. You know how crazy that is. Imagine building a company off of pure inspiration. I started rhyming in my mama crib in 2017, thats where I wrote The Alarm Clock. I built this shit off rhyming. From that time I started my own publishing company, because I’ma G, aint nobody taking my literature from me, legally.
But that was just the intro.
The Alarm Clock is a hard core book with a cover that can be shelved in a Christian Book Store. But I aint write to the Christians because they was glued to the bible and Im not here to shift anybody religion, I’m just being real.
This book called From Babylon to Timbuktu by Rudolph R Windsor, talks about how Moses people left Egypt and Moses was the first to return home to the mama’and land. What it mean to return home? To get your mind back to the original way of thinking. That’s what I represent and how I want to be remembered.

Flow with me,
This shit is not easy. I been out of corporate America, since 2017, its 2021, that’s damn near 4 years. We was sold a myth! When I first started out, my mentor who I speak highly of in The Alarm Clock, The God Father to my seed, gave me and my lil bro Zoot Oates, tickets to hear Thomas Davis speak at Wake Forest, this was right before the release of The Alarm Clock in 2017.
Thomas Davis is in my opinion the best linebacker of all time in Carolina, I even put him over Luke in my book because he came back from 3 ACL injuries, eating. He a dawg, I been a Carolina fan ever since they lost to Brady in the Superbowl back in 03,[ Look it up that shit was on January 26th, 2004.] Brady only post to have 6 rings, and that comes from the emotions of a real fan. Word to Jake and them.
But I wanted to get some real advice from TD since I had just got fired, I felt like I was recovering from an ACL injury. Surprisingly he was upset that I burned that opportunity because I was at a Fortune 500 company. I understood where he was coming from because that’s leverage but the point I wanted to make was, I wanted my own fortune 500 company…
Let’s Fast Forward to 2018
Since I been on my own. I helped build my pops a trucking company from the land below zero if you dig what I’m saying, using all the same principles I learned from being in them corporate offices and in return Allah took good care of me. All this shit really comes from my mind. But as Napoleon Hill say “Thoughts are things.” Independent trucking companies like ours, generate six figures year round, I study the game and because of that I never sell out, unless it’s the Alarm Clock, but even then we re up like the spring solstice.
Let’s talk about Napoleon real quick, since we are entrepreneurs, or if you read this far, you scholarly in my book. No Puns.
In his Book Outwitting the Devil, Napoleon, opens up on how he started off in publishing. I don’t want to spill the beans in the book, but with me being in publishing, I could hella relate. When you read or listen to the audio book, the part where he talks about West Virginia to Philly, is the specific part I’m talking about. I turned a lot of people on to that book, it’s a classic check it out.
IN FACT HERE GO THE AUDIOBOOK BELOW [ Call it a book reference Q note to self]
Anyway, being out here on yo own, surviving, is humbling, sometimes you gotta starve to see who you really is. I done been called bumpy, broke, they think I done went Muslim, I take that as a compliment. Insallah
