Carlos A. Jones Takin em' back 2 1975 with the release of his new novel
Through the adversities of the Pandemic and racial tensions taking place in America in 2020, author Carlos A. Jones has successfully released his first novel 1975— A Tale of Two Cities. Released on March 12th, 2021, which was Carlos 46th birthday, the joy of dropping a novel and celebrating a birthday can be an indescribable feeling.
Getting his inspiration to write a novel of his own from his younger brother, CEO of No More Suits LLC, Darrell Q. Slade. Los stated that it was “just in me to become an author.” The topic of 1975— A Tale of Two Cities. came simply from the life journey of the author himself. He says that things he experienced from being a child, teenager, adult and husband is written in his book. What to write about was really a “no brainer” Los said.
The idea of 1975 came to fruition back in 2018 through a phone conversation between Darrell Q. Slade, and Carlos. Q explained to me that this whole process started by phone convos with his brother, they talk everyday, and them convos is what became the novel.
From then on, the creation of the novel took off. Jones knew that he wanted his novel to display what he lived through while allowing others to learn not only about his present life, but about the history of how his family began as well.
1975 is an extremely versatile novel. Readers are given the privilege to learn information ranging from Louisville, Kentucky to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The book honors the memory of Carlos’s mother and is dedicated to Breonna Taylor. The message being told conveys a sense of family, history and cultural heritage.
Overall, the process of becoming an author and publishing a novel has been a “dream come true” for Carlos. To aspiring authors, it is imperative to not give up on your dreams. It’s challenging at times, but you have to speak it and do it, don’t procrastinate, word to Carlos A. Jones.
